How 2Green started

2Green was started seven years ago by Alex Henn, who spent the early years doing the work himself before there was a team to do it. Most of what this business knows about Paarl gardens was learned on the wrong end of a spade in February.

It has grown into a team looking after private gardens and estate common grounds week in and week out, in a valley where hot dry summers and fast-draining granite soils punish a garden that was planted for somewhere else.

How we work

We quote after an on-site visit, not off a photograph. That is slower and it is the only way to price ground you have not seen. If we find something that materially changes a job once we are into it, we stop and agree it with you rather than adding it to the invoice.

The gardens that always look good are the ones on a regular schedule, where somebody catches the small problems early. That is most of what we sell, and it is why our maintenance rounds matter more to us than any one-off build.

Behind that sits a client portal, which is not something most garden companies bother with. Quotes are accepted in one click, invoices and their PDFs live in one place, and monthly billing runs off a saved card if you want it to. It exists because chasing paperwork is the part of this trade clients complain about most.

Why we publish the numbers

This site carries free guides with the actual figures we build to: excavation depths, mowing heights, litres per week, hedge spacing, what materials cost in 2026. Publishing them means a client can check our work, and it means someone who would rather do the job themselves can.

Some of that advice costs us sales, on purpose. If a screen panel does what you asked a hedge to do, we will say so. Our garden guides and free calculators are the same information we work from.
